About the Toyota Camry
The Toyota Camry is the best-selling midsize sedan in America, and has been for many years. That popularity comes from an unimpeachable record for reliability, superb value for money, and enjoyable driving dynamics. The standard hybrid drivetrain means that the Camry is highly efficient, giving it a big boost in practicality, an area where it was already very strong. The styling is cool and contemporary without getting too wild, and the well-appointed interior is comfortable. Premium materials and tech-forward creature comforts add to the experience of the spacious design. Advanced technology plays a major role in what makes the Camry such an appealing car, and this includes cutting-edge safety features that make driving safer and less stressful at the same time.
What the Critics Say
“In the all-wheel-drive midgrade Camry SE we’re given for our drive, the first thing we notice is the steering’s accurate feel. The wheel weighs up nicely, points the nose true, and results in good driver confidence. This feeling is only enhanced by the suspension tuning; the ride stays righteously flat and tidy through curvy roads—a result of the car’s relatively light 3,500-pound curb weight and a low center of gravity that carries its own inertia well.” — MotorTrend
“In general, hybrids benefit from instant acceleration away from a stop, quiet operation around town, and significant fuel savings. Toyota’s hybrid powertrains are smooth and relatively quiet, and have proved to be exceptionally reliable. Combining what appears to be a no-nonsense interior with a fuel-sipping hybrid engine and optional AWD could make the Camry a no-brainer for midsized sedan shoppers.” — Consumer Reports
What’s New for 2026
The ninth generation of the Camry just debuted last year, so changes have been mild, but noteworthy nonetheless. There is a new paint color, available on select trims, known as Dark Cosmos. But the bigger news is the reintroduction of the Nightshade trim, which bridges the gap between the SE and the XSE, and comes with black 19-inch wheels, a blacked-out grille, a black rear spoiler, and black badging.
Toyota Camry Features

Versatile Design
The bodywork of the Camry reflects Toyota’s latest design language, with different trims emphasizing different features. The current Camry is lower and wider than previous generations, allowing for improved handling and fuel economy. And on the subject of fuel economy, a hybrid drivetrain comes standard with the Camry. This produces a system total of 225 horsepower, or 232 horsepower if you opt for the available all-wheel drive. This option gives the Camry yet another massive advantage over the competition, not just because it comes with a bit of extra power, but also because several of the Camry’s competitors don’t offer all-wheel drive at all, or in some cases limit it to specific trims. There is even the option for sport-tuned suspension, another rarity in this segment.

Well-Appointed Interior
The interior of the Camry is spacious, with enough room to easily fit five adults. Standard dual-zone climate control, as well as available heated and ventialted front seats, help to make sure that everyone is a comfortable temperature as well. Seat upholstery is available in a variety of materials, including cloth, SofTex®, and a combination of leather andf microfiber. The Camry comes with a 7-inch digital gauge cluster and an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, but 12.3-inch versions of both are available. Whichever you go with, wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® come standard, along with a wireless charging pad for your phone. To go with this, there is a six-speaker stereo system that comes standard, but those who want an even more impressive listening experience can opt for the available 9-speaker JBL® stereo system, complete with subwoofer and amplifier.

Cutting-Edge Technology
We’ve already talked about how the advanced hybrid drivetrain in the Camry makes it a technological standout, but there’s much more than that. Quite a lot of the tech on the Camry is devoted to safety, as the Camry comes with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 (TSS 3.0), a suite of the most advanced Toyota driver assistance technologies. This includes Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA), Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD), Road Sign Assist (RSA), as well as Automatic High Beams (AHB). There are other technologies that aren’t part of this suite, but are no less important, things like Traction Control, Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control, Brake Assist, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Anti-Lock Braking System, and Smart Stop Technology®. There is also an available head-up display, which helps you to keep your eyes on the road.
