What Sets the Toyota Tacoma Apart from the Pickup Truck Competition with Ken Ganley Toyota Akron
For nearly two decades, the Toyota Tacoma has served drivers throughout the Cuyahoga Falls area as a versatile and capable, easy-to-drive compact pickup truck. One of the top choices for our customers at Ken Ganley Toyota Akron, the powerful and versatile Tacoma practically recommends itself.
If you're in the market for a new truck and you're overwhelmed by the number of seemingly similar options that are available at dealerships throughout the Akron, OH and Stow area, our team can help. To illustrate what makes the latest Tacoma models a better option for your new ride, we've highlighted it here for you next to the Honda Ridgeline and Nissan Frontier. Read on to learn more about it and all of the ways in which it comes out ahead of competing models.
Technology & Features
Whether it's safety or connectivity, the new Toyota Tacoma has more of the features that our customers in the Portage County area are looking for than the Nissan Frontier. For example, regardless of which trim level you go for, every Tacoma model in the lineup comes with satellite radio for entertainment, Wi-Fi capabilities for connection, and adaptive cruise control for safe driving. The Nissan Frontier doesn't come with any of these features standard.
Compared to the Honda Ridgeline, the Toyota Tacoma once again offers a greater number of standard amenities. For example, you can expect exterior mirrors that are both heated and power-adjustable standard on the Tacoma, but not on the Ridgeline. Additionally, the Ridgeline doesn't have standard Wi-Fi or satellite radio either.

Power & Performance
At home on highways, byways, or trails, the Toyota Tacoma is a versatile pickup that's up for any challenge. It has two engine options that are ready to be put to work, including a 159-horsepower four-cylinder and a 278-horsepower V6. Comparatively, the Nissan Frontier only has one engine available for its lineup. Plus, where the Frontier tows a maximum of 6,700 pounds, the Tacoma has a slightly higher capacity at 6,800 pounds.
Looking at the Toyota Tacoma next to the Honda Ridgeline, Hartville drivers will once again discover that the Toyota has more engine options to pick from than the competition. Plus, where the Tacoma has off-road specific trim levels, including the Tacoma TRD Off-Road, which make adventures more fun, the Honda Ridgeline doesn't have any off-road ready trim options. Finally, the Honda truck maxes at just 5,000 pounds for towing ability, compared to 6,800 pounds for the Toyota.
Interior & Exterior
When it comes to comfort and design, neither of the two competing trucks compare to the Toyota Tacoma. For example, looking at the Nissan Frontier, you'll find the design of the Tacoma to be more comfortable, with more shoulder room and headroom, as well as more front seat legroom.
Examining the Toyota Tacoma next to the Honda Ridgeline, you'll get more interior space and more choices to pick from. After all, the Ridgeline is strictly a crew cab truck, with no other cab style options available for drivers to personalize their ride. The Tacoma, on the other hand, has multiple cab options available. Additionally, when you slip inside these cab options, you'll find that the Tacoma offers a more spacious ride, including more than two extra inches of legroom for front seat passengers.
